Carondelet Catholic School is excited to announce a new Makerspace program at our Lower Campus for students in pre-K through grade 2. This exciting new program will challenge our younger students to grow as problem solvers, critical thinkers, and collaborators by providing hands-on experiences that allow then to learn and create collaboratively.
By blending traditional studio arts with engineering projects, the class is designed to give students diverse opportunities to use their creativity. Students will learn about the elements of art (line, space, texture, color, shape, form, value, pattern), use a variety of media (paint, clay, paper, oil pastels, chalk, and many recycled materials) and apply principals of science and design. Whenever possible, lessons will connect with science or math content from the classroom. The Makerspace will be a place where students can express their creativity and grow their problem-solving skills. The program will be taught by Carondelet teacher, Brigid Berger.
