Carondelet Catholic School is excited to continue our partnership with Groves Academy in the Believe & Read program this fall.
The initiative, made possible by the Catholic Schools Center for Excellence (CSCOE), is a 3-year program that transforms literacy instruction for all readers through outstanding professional development and teacher coaching.
Under CSCOE’s current Believe and Read model, Groves literacy coaches spend time alongside K-2 teachers for 30 minutes a week to help emerging readers and build relationships with the teachers, so that by the end of the first year, the teachers are implementing the program, adding grade 3 for this upcoming school year.
“The people at Groves are experts in the literacy field, not just locally but nationally, and they work well within the Catholic school environment where we address the whole child — body, mind and spirit,” said Gail Dorn, CSCOE president.
We are excited to continue this initiative as it's been a great enhancement to our existing literacy program.
