I can't believe that it is the last Friday of the year!!!  It has been such an amazing year.  I have enjoyed having these guys again!  They really are such a fun bunch!  I am so going to miss them!!!

A few changes for next week:  We have our field trip on Tuesday to Fort Snelling.  Please pack a safe lunch that day.  We will be eating there so no hot lunch.

If your child is in band they will only go down if they have not finished their scales.  You can contact Mr. Ruhnke if you have any questions.

Please send a paper grocery bag with your child on Wednesday.  We will be cleaning out desks.

Thursday is field day and our last day.  Please be sure to send a water bottle.   It will also be an out of uniform day since it is field day.

We will not be having homework for the rest of the school year.  It is just getting too nice out to be sitting inside doing homework.  Please continue to have them practice their reading at home.  I would encourage 20 min a night still.

This week:

Communication:
Our ELA time was a little different this week.  Some of the students wrote a script and are putting together a movie.  They are not done yet but so far they have been doing a great job.  We also make a video for our Pre-K friends who graduated this Thursday.

Math:
We finished up our geometry unit this week.  We looked a bunch of different vocab words (clockwise, counter clock wise, reflection, degrees, etc.).  They did a great job with them and remembering what everything was.

Science/SS:
We took a look this week at our world.  We read about NATO and NAFTA.  They were very interested in these lessons.  We also got to talking about WWII and they asked if Mr. Rome could come in and talk to them about it.  He has agreed and will come in next week to talk to us.

Religion:
We finished up our safety unit on bullying and cyberbullying.  Please continue the conversation at home about being safe online.  It is a new concept to them and as they get older it will only become a bigger part of their daily life and we need to work to keep them safe.

Classroom Wish List:
white paper lunch bags
board games (mine are all in pretty bad shape)
items for my treasure chest
donations of gently used books
somebody to paint my rocking chair and my white table
camping chairs
